Privacy Policy
Emma – Learn English is designed with privacy in mind. We collect only the data needed for account sign-in. Your learning activity and AI provider connection details stay on your device.
Important: Learning Data Stays on Your Device
If you switch to a new device or reinstall the app, your learning data cannot be transferred and will be reset. Conversation history, progress, evaluations, saved words, preferences, and all other learning records exist only on the device where they were created. Emma – Learn English does not keep copies on our servers.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information required for authentication and account management. This may include your email address and a secure account identifier. We do not collect, upload, or store your learning data on our servers.
Data Stored on Your Device
All learning-related information is stored locally on your device. Your AI provider connection details are also kept securely on your device. Emma – Learn English does not have access to this on-device data unless you choose to share it by using AI features.
AI Providers
Your AI provider connection never leaves your device. When you use AI features, the conversation content required for that request may be sent directly to the provider you selected, under that provider's privacy policy and terms.
Google Sign-In and Gemini
When you choose to connect Google Gemini in Emma – Learn English, you may sign in with your Google account. We use Google Sign-In only to authenticate your connection to Gemini features you request. We may receive basic profile information such as your name and email address from Google for account identification. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell Google user data to third parties. OAuth tokens and Gemini connection details needed to use Gemini are stored securely on your device. We do not store your Google password. You can disconnect Google Gemini at any time in the app settings. For more information about how Google handles your data, see Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Google API Limited Use Compliance
Emma – Learn English does not access Google Workspace or Google Photos user data. The use of raw or derived user data received from Google APIs, including Google Sign-In, adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use, transfer, or sell Google user data to create, train, or improve foundational or generalized machine learning or artificial intelligence models.
Data Protection and Security Mechanisms
Emma – Learn English uses the following mechanisms to protect sensitive data, including Google user data:
- Encryption in transit: Data transmitted between the app and authentication or AI services is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
- Secure on-device storage: OAuth tokens, AI provider credentials, and learning data are stored on your device using secure storage provided by iOS.
- Data minimization: We request only the Google data and permissions needed to connect the Gemini features you choose to use.
- Access control: Google Sign-In and Gemini connection data are accessible only within the app on your device and are not stored on our servers.
- Retention and deletion: You can disconnect Google Gemini in app settings. Deleting the app removes on-device data. You may request deletion of authentication account data by contacting us.
- No unauthorized sharing: We do not sell, rent, share, transfer, or disclose Google user data to third parties for advertising or unrelated purposes.
Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure of Google User Data
Emma – Learn English does not sell, rent, share, transfer, or disclose Google user data to data brokers, advertising platforms, or other third parties. Google user data is used only to provide Gemini connection features you request inside the app. When you use Gemini, conversation content required for that request may be sent directly to Google under Google's terms and privacy policy.
Sign In with Apple and Google
Emma – Learn English supports Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In for fast, passwordless, and secure authentication. When you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique user identifier and, if permitted, your name and email (or an anonymous relay email via Apple's Hide My Email). When you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information such as your name and email address. This data is used solely to identify and authenticate your account. We do not use your authentication information for advertising, and we never sell user data to third parties.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions are purchased through the App Store. Your subscription status is verified through Apple's purchase systems. Emma – Learn English does not receive or store your full payment card information.
Data Deletion
To request deletion of your account and associated authentication information (including Apple or Google sign-in records), contact us at pamukapp@hotmail.com or use the account deletion option in app settings. Learning data stored on your device is removed when you delete the app from that device.
